Breaking load indicate when the product breaks.
During tests, the product strength is measured by direct pull.
In practice the tencile forces are halved when using buckles and slides on collars. When choosing a buckle for this purpose, you can actually count on the breaking strength being doubled.
Safe working load
For safe working load you can count 1/10 of breaking load. Example: If you need a snap hook for a dog with a weight of 15 kg you should choose one with breaking load over 150 kg.
